Membership and Obligations
Members are divided into two (02) categories, namely members and advisers.
Members
Any organization or entity that carries out projects or activities to promote agroecological practices may become a member of NEPAC. These organizations may be:
- Formalized organizations of producers, processors or consumers in Cameroon.
- Cameroonian NGOs and associations represented in Cameroon and authorised to work there.
Advisers
Resource persons, media associations, training centers, research centers, decentralized territorial authorities (communes and regions), associations of Cameroonian parliamentarians and Technical and Financial Partners may act as advisors, i.e. they may take part in meetings as accompaniers or contributors, without having the right to take part in decision-making.
The aim of NEPAC is to strengthen or establish synergies between different organizations in order to increase the strength of advocacy and the impact of initiatives, and thus promote the implementation of an agro-ecological transition in Cameroon and the Congo Basin. To achieve this, membership of NEPAC implies taking concrete, collaborative and complementary action. In this case, NEPAC members are said to be “active” and involved in implementing the actions of the operational strategic plan that will be drawn up.
How to join
Membership of the network is voluntary. However, by joining, organisations undertake to: adhere to this charter
- work to promote agroecology;
- fulfil their obligations (financial contribution);
- Respect the values and principles of NEPAC;
- Participate actively in NEPAC activities;
- Contribute technically and/or financially to the implementation of NEPAC’s action plan;
- Publicize NEPAC and its activities through various communication channels.
Organizations wishing to join NEPAC are invited to contact the NEPAC Technical Secretariat by sending a letter of intent briefly describing their structure, their interest in joining and their potential contribution to NEPAC. The membership application will be examined and validated by the General Assembly.
