Young people often see farming as ‘backwards,’ but NEPAC showed us the business case for agroecology. By focusing on climate-smart cassava processing, we have trained over 1,000 farmers. We are proving that you can be profitable while protecting the earth. My business, NAN-AGRIC, is a testament to how ecological principles can drive modern economic growth.

After fleeing conflict, we had nothing. NEPAC helped us pool our strengths into a collective. We’ve learned advanced techniques to manage water in this scorching sun. We now produce tons of maize and onions without chemical fertilizers. Being part of this network has turned us from victims of displacement into pillars of food security for our community.

Promotion of Resilient Agricultural Systems

Before transitioning to agroecology, I used many chemicals that made my pineapples sour and exhausted my soil. With training from the network, I now use only organic waste—chicken and rabbit droppings. My fruits are sweeter, my soil is healthy, and I no longer worry about the health risks of synthetic pesticides. It is a total transformation of my livelihood.
